What a Certified Legal Document Preparer Can & Cannot Do

Arizona's Certified Legal Document Preparer (CLDP) program supports self-represented individuals by preparing and filing accurate documents within the scope defined by Rule 31 of the Arizona Rules of the Supreme Court and Arizona Code of Judicial Administration Section 7-208. Arizona Advocates Group LLC delivers those services through a dedicated solo preparer, Elee J. Eid.

What We Can Do

  • Prepare legal forms and pleadings for individuals not represented by an attorney.
  • File documents with the court and coordinate procedural steps like service and notarization.
  • Explain factual filing requirements, timelines, and publicly available procedural information.
  • Provide court-approved templates and ensure filings meet formatting rules.

What We Cannot Do

  • Give legal advice, legal opinions, or strategy recommendations for your case.
  • Represent you in court, negotiate on your behalf, or communicate with opposing counsel.
  • Interpret statutes, predict outcomes, or guarantee results.
  • Create attorney-client relationships or substitute for licensed legal counsel.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you provide legal advice?

We operate as a certified legal document preparer service, not attorneys. We cannot provide legal advice, but we ensure your documents are accurate and court-ready. We are happy to coordinate with your attorney.

How long does document preparation take?

Most standard packages are completed within 3-5 business days. Rush services are available when deadlines are tight.

Do you work remotely?

Yes. We serve clients throughout Arizona with secure online meetings and e-signature workflows.

What is the difference between a CLDP and a paralegal?

Paralegals work under the supervision of an attorney and cannot independently offer services to the public. CLDPs are licensed by the Arizona Supreme Court to work directly with self-represented individuals, prepare documents, and file paperwork without attorney oversight while staying within strict regulatory boundaries.

How is a CLDP regulated and by whom?

The Certified Legal Document Preparer credential is regulated by the Arizona Supreme Court under Rule 31 and Arizona Code of Judicial Administration Section 7-208. The Court's Certification & Licensing Division investigates complaints, enforces continuing education, and can suspend or revoke certification when rules are violated.
